"Finally a dry field and I have managed to fly a real plane again. The name of my club is, Walsall Model Aero Club and the a/c is a Great Planes 1/3 scale Pitts which I bought 5 yrs ago when I retired. It is powered by a 44cc Tartan Twin modified by me to run on petrol and it is swinging a 20 x 10 prop.
I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the stability of the restraint. The engineer in me assumes that its footprint must help but with a pre-flight full power engine run and only a pair of nails at the back to hold it in place - it never budged or showed any sign of strain. I was most impressed.
